Pathways to Coaching

You've built
something
worth sharing.

Pathways to Coaching is a live interview series hosted by Erin Owen, MCC — where experienced coaches share the real story of building their practice with an audience of newer coaches who are ready to learn from people who've actually done it.

"Newer coaches don't need more theory. They need to hear from people like you — honest stories from coaches who have built real practices."

A conversation series
designed for real learning

Pathways to Coaching is a series of live conversations with guest coaches, hosted by Erin Owen, MBA, MCC. Each session features one experienced coach from a unique professional background, interviewed in a candid, conversational format.

The audience is made up of newer coaches — coaches who are in the early stages of building their practice and hungry to learn from people who've navigated what they're navigating right now.

The questions aren't surface-level. They go to the real moments: the first client, the early mistakes, the lessons that took years to learn. This isn't a pitch opportunity or a polished keynote — it's a genuine conversation, and that's precisely what makes it valuable.

Each session also includes a live coaching demonstration, where the guest coach works with an audience volunteer for 10–15 minutes. It's one of the most powerful parts of every call.

These are the core questions Erin uses across all sessions. She'll also develop one question specifically for you, based on her research into your background. Guests receive the full question list in advance — this is a conversation, not a surprise.

"
Tell us about your path into coaching. What were you doing before, and what drew you toward it?
"
When you first started building your practice, how did you find your initial clients?
"
What was your first big success, and why was that meaningful for you?
"
What was your first big "oh shit" moment, and how did you handle it?
"
What do you wish you'd known then that you know now?
"
What role does AI play in your coaching business or in your sessions with clients?
One question is unique to you. Erin researches each guest's background and develops a question tailored to your specific journey, specialty, or something she finds genuinely interesting about your path. You'll receive it in advance.

Erin Owen,
MBA, MCC

Erin resigned her corporate consulting job in the spring of 2004 to pursue coaching full-time. Over the years she has coached privately, in-house, and via sub-contract to leaders from nearly 30 nationalities across numerous industries and sectors.

The Pathways to Coaching program is inspired by Erin's desire to support new coaches in getting out in the world to coach and support others. This series is her way of connecting the coaches who've built something meaningful with the coaches who are just beginning to build.

As a Master Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation, Erin brings a practiced interviewer's ear to every conversation — creating the kind of space where guests feel comfortable sharing what they've actually learned, not just the polished version.
