Advocate for Your Worth — But Don’t Let Money Define It

Money matters — but it’s not all that matters.

As an executive career coach, I fully believe in helping professionals advocate for their full market value, negotiate compensation, and confidently pursue bonuses or raises.

This is part of owning your voice and worth.

But here’s the truth: when money becomes the only goal, it can cloud the bigger picture.

  1. I’ve seen executives take high-paying roles that drained their energy and derailed their long-term vision.
  2. I’ve watched talented leaders stay in misaligned roles out of financial fear — only to burn out completely.
  3. I’ve seen leaders get the raise — but feel more stuck.
  4. I’ve seen people turn down aligned opportunities because the paycheck didn’t match ego expectations.

Remember that money is not the only metric of a successful career.  🫶 🫶 🫶

🔎 Reflection for the week: Ask yourself…

Are you chasing a number, or a life aligned with your values?

Let money work for your vision — not define it. 💸 💸 💸

Scarcity Thinking: Is It Quietly Running Your Career?

"Budgeting isn't about restricting, it's about making the things, that excite you possible." Elizabeth Warren, US Senator & consumer finance advocate

“Is there going to be enough?” 🤔🤔🤔

It’s a question that lives under the surface for many high achieving leaders, even at the top.

Scarcity mindset doesn’t always scream; sometimes it whispers.

It shows up when you stay in a job because you’re scared you won’t make as much elsewhere.

When you hold back hiring the right talent because you’re worried about budget. When you undervalue yourself, assuming others will, too.

Leaders are not immune to this — in fact, they often feel it most. The pressure to protect, perform, and provide can make fear-based financial decisions feel “responsible.”

A leader operating from fear often translates that into conservative, risk-averse strategic decisions.

But fear is a poor strategist. 😱 😱 😱

When scarcity drives your leadership or career, it leads to short-term thinking, underinvestment, and burnout.

Real leadership requires clarity, not just control.

And building a career you love means trusting there is room — and resource — for your growth.

Scarcity may feel safe, but it’s costing you more than you think.

🔎 Reflection for the week: Ask yourself…

How is my fear of lack shaping the way I lead or allocate resources? Am I leading with vision — or reacting from fear?

If scarcity has been quietly driving your decisions, you’re not alone. Let’s talk about how to shift from fear-based to growth-focused leadership — 📩 DM me or click here

Money Is Energy — So How’s Yours Moving?

What if I encouraged you to look at money not just as a means to get what you want in life — but as a form of energy?  💸 💸 💸

Your money mindset dictates the flow of this energy. What do I mean by this?

Money moves where intention goes. It responds to the energy of our thoughts (subconscious or conscious) as well as our actions, whether grounded in confidence, fear, clarity, or scarcity.

The way you think about money influences how it shows up in your life and leadership. Do you approach it as a source of opportunity? Or something to control and protect?

When we operate from fear or lack, we are more conservative in our choices and less likely to take risks in our careers. We may also hoard resources, underinvest in ourselves, or undervalue our contributions.

But when we shift to a money mindset that is clear and confident, it is more like intentional exchange (knowing that value creates value). Then, money becomes a reflection of alignment, not just accumulation.

In leadership, this shows up in how we price, what we are willing to pay, and how we invest. Whether in ourselves or our teams, money energy matters.

Think of it this way…an abundance mindset views money as a resource that flows in both directions.

Here are four ways you can create positive money energy in your workplace:

💬 Speak about money with clarity and confidence, not fear — language shapes culture.

💸 Invest in people, not just outcomes — energy flows where value is placed.

🙌 Celebrate wins and raises openly — abundance multiplies when acknowledged.

🧘♀️ Stay grounded in purpose, not panic — calm energy creates confident decisions.

🔎 Reflection for the Week:

Ask yourself: What energy are you bringing to your money decisions? Is it aligned with the leader you’re becoming?

The Double-Edged Sword of Money in Leadership & Career Decisions

Money isn’t just numbers — it’s the means to most ends in our current world. 💰 💰 💰

Money is a powerful motivator and a common obstacle in career decisions. 💸 💸 💸

As leaders, we often view money as a simple metric: a reward for performance, an indicator of success. However, its influence is far more complex.

Money inspires bold career moves, fuels ambition, and often signifies success. But for many, it can also make us feel trapped. Money is often a source of anxiety, fear, indecision, and even stagnation.

In my work as an executive career coach, I’ve seen brilliant leaders stay in roles far past their time…simply because the paycheck was too good to walk away from.

On the flip side, I’ve also seen people under value themselves, afraid to aim higher for fear of asking too much.

Leaders, wake up to this reality: your personal financial comfort (or anxiety) not only influences your career decisions but also translates directly into how you lead your team and manage your budget.

Based on my observations in thousands of hours of coaching sessions, I’ve observed that true leadership requires financial clarity. You need to understand where money ends and purpose begins.

🔎 Reflection for the Week: Ask Yourself… Am I making career decisions from passion and alignment with my purpose — or instead from anxiety about money? What would shift if I trusted in what my heart is calling for versus short-term security?

Stay tuned…this month, I’m exploring how money shapes our careers — where it drives us forward and where it quietly holds us back.

November Leadership Challenge: Lead with Love

This week I wrap-up this month’s strategy of Leading with Love, by inviting you into a deeper practice for this next month of November:

Lead with Love—In All Its Forms ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

That means self-love—tuning into your body, mind, and soul, and asking: What do I need to stay aligned?

It means tough love—setting compassionate boundaries, giving honest feedback, and not rescuing others at the expense of yourself.

It means discernment—pausing before reacting, and asking: Am I leading from fear or love?

And it means bringing in the wisdom of the mystics—Lao Tzu, Rumi, and the Andean path—which all remind us: love is clarity, love is presence, love is power.

This month’s challenge:

Every day, pause and ask yourself: 👉 What would love do here—in how I lead, decide, and show up?

Let it guide how you care for yourself, your people, and your vision.
