After two years of remote work, stress and trauma, the transition back to business travel, commuting and hybrid work may cause anxiety and feel daunting for you and your team members. Just the act of getting ready, preparing for a full day at the office and commuting may feel incredibly overwhelming and like an impossible task for many people. In my May LinkedIn article, Why You Must Keep Your Employees Engaged and How to Do So Effectively, I discuss the many Pandemic-induced leadership challenges currently facing executives around the world.
Pandemic-induced leadership challenges continue to alter work environments and create stress for CEOs and senior leaders. In a world where authority is questioned, fear reigns supreme, turnover is commonplace and the “great resignation” is still in full effect, it is more important than ever for leadership to create a workplace culture that encourages employee engagement, transparency and trust. Here in the Northern hemisphere, the start of the Spring season triggers an awakening within each of us. It is the season of healing, hope, rebirth and renewal. Buds and seeds begin to poke their heads out, sparked by the warmth of the sunlight. In March, you planted your seeds of intentions and new beginnings.
There are about three weeks left of winter here in the Northern Hemisphere. As the darker months diminish they give way to the Spring Equinox’s brighter light on March 20, 2022. Now is the perfect time to plant your seeds for personal development and growth, so that you are ready to SPRING INTO ACTION in April. January was your month of deep hibernation and reflection. In February you honored what was right for you.
In 1862 Emily Dickinson penned the profound adage “The heart wants what it wants – or else it does not care”, which truly resonates with me. Let’s make February all about putting this truism to work by focusing on following your heart. In honor of Black History Month, the Lunar New Year, American Hearth Month, and Valentine’s Day, I thought February was the perfect month to focus on self-care, self-compassion and self-love. Honoring your heart’s desire in all aspects of your life including your career, lifestyle, romance and wellness will bring you a greater sense of fulfillment and joy.
